Before there was a car, there was an idea: how could we make every person who enters our vehicle feel just as powerful as Black Panther. How can we create an empowering experience? When creating a moodboard, I kept this question in mind and selected images that symbolized empowering moments within the film while also depicting the familiar color palette of Black panther. More importantly, I told a story with material and color. To design for an empowering experience, I had to first define what it is: an internal epiphany of one's power from within. Empowerment is like a light that pierces through the soul. Therefore, on the far left, I placed adidas' groundbreaking innovation 4D FWD on top of purple lighting to portray this affect. Ultimately, integrating adidas sports DNA with Luxury in a subtle way. 

In addition to lighting, Wakandan patterns evoke empowerment from its presence in royal settings of the movie, but also, the unique role that pattern making played in African cultures. Each pattern served as a story and expression of independence for African women, and there is truly nothing more empowering than the nostalgic hints of storytelling and individualism in one's history.
